ABOUT ME

I am a product design generalist who finds concept desirability through primary UX Research and then creates novel digital products to suit discovered user needs. Strong background in User Experience (UX) Design with bonus skills from my previous career as an Associate Professor of Art with many Summers spent on Freelance Graphic and Web Design work. My generalist diploma in UX Design from NYU (1 year) was bolstered by my active participation and volunteering with NYCUXPA for the last three years. I am a UXQB Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience.

EXPERIENCE

The Hartford Innovation Lab, NYC 2019–Current

Product Designer

Leading a UX research and design team as the AD of User Experience Design at The Hartford’s Small Business Innovation Lab. Responsible for evangelizing user experience design methods to high level stakeholders, coordinating methods and workloads with the team, while still being totally hands-on, building novel digital products. My specialty areas include user interviews, wire framing, interactive prototyping, and user testing.

United States Tennis Association (USTA), Greater NYC 2018–2019

UX Designer

Co-designed the Net Generation App, now available in the Apple and Google Play stores. 
I am a User Experience Design generalist collaborating with our team on UX Research, UXDesign, and UI Design. 
Conducting Interviews, creating personas, drawing low (hand drawn), medium, and high fidelity wireframes (Sketch), heuristic evaluation, card sorting, accessibility checks, InVision prototyping, and conducting remote user testing.

 

InSpirAVE, NYC 2017–2018

UX / UI Designer

Worked closely with stakeholders and the development team to design and launch the firstMVP version of the InSpirAVE web app at this Fintech startup company. 
Practiced continuity by building on previous UX Designer’s research and branding. 
Investigated human-computer interaction, increased gamification and sign-up rates.

Designer / Registrar / Production Manager

Created exact–to–spec designs in Photoshop for clients to have their unique frames visualized on their art prior to purchase.
Collaborated on designs to bring the old Flash based website up to date with a full re–design.
Spearheaded the successful implementation of a new digital art inventory system that is digitized, searchable, and automatically backed up, with corresponding art labels.

Teaching adult Studio Art courses, including drawing and Figure Drawing. 
Creating curriculum with detailed lesson plans, course calendar, syllabus, and demonstrations.
